Sealants

Dental sealants provide a clear protective coating for your teeth. By keeping out plague and food, the chances of tooth decay decrease dramatically. Sealants are great for children with emerging permanent teeth because they are still learning how to practice proper dental hygiene.

Sealant application is a simple procedure for adults and children. First, we thoroughly clean the tooth to be sealed. Then we "condition” the top of the tooth so that the sealant will stick to the surface. Finally, we apply the sealant to the tooth. As long as the sealant remains intact, your tooth is safe from decay. Sealants commonly last for several years between applications.
